Community Unity is the combined efforts of the Georgetown churches to assist families in need, whatever their beliefs. It is an initiative of the Georgetown and District Ministerial Association uniting Christians and the churches to demonstrate the love of Christ in our community. As Christians we are called to work together as one body proclaiming through word and deed the glory of God’s kingdom in our community.
It all started with a spring yard cleanup to assist families in need due to age, health or circumstance, and has grown to include a fall yard cleanup; a food program called Food from the Heart; and Jubilee, care planners helping people connect with needed agencies. These programs are covered in greater depth on our Events page.
This is the sign we leave on your lawn after the spring or fall yard clean up.
Although Community Unity is operated by Christian volunteers, it is an incorporated registered charity under the direct control of the Georgetown and District Ministerial Association (G&DMA) that includes all the churches in the greater Georgetown community.
